Stripping metal miniatures

Postby Sheepman » Mon Aug 26, 2013 4:53 pm

Got a load of miniatures off eBay which look like they have been painted by a small child after getting high on sniffing glue (maybe they were...).
Was wondering what anyone can recommend to strip the paint off?

Thanks
Iain

I use paint stripper that you get from a hardware store such as B&Q but you need to take the bases off as it will pretty much dissolve plastic.

Steve graven posted this up on his thing a while ago, have tried it myself and can say it is a nice cheap and simple way to strip and worked very well for me, plastic works well enough in it as well, only issue i have had is that some of my older models that had very cheap glue came apart in places, but to be honest that only made it easier to get into smaller areas to strip

The best stuff I have found for Metal, Resin and Plastic is Fairy Power Spray. Works a treat. :ugeek: You can grab it from your local supermarket on the way to the ale and cider aisle!
