Its official I have ordered some clothing for the dress up in October.....This better be happening or I'll I'll.........I'll just have to come dressed up on my own!

Might this event be open to non-regulars? I've not come down to the Monday eve club yet (Mon is an awkward night for me) but this sounds fun.

Yes it will. it is a two day Apocalypse game. 5k ish per person.

The rules will be a Google doc posted within the next two weeks.

We will set up private Facebook groups for the teams to discuss army lists and tactics.

This year there will be a lot of random and fun things going on in game.

The event does cost £20 for an early bird ticket or £25 if not bought early enough, with the dates going up soon. The ticket does include lunch on Saturday, a Bacon butty on Sunday morning and money towards a pizza order on Saturday night.

The last two have been epic and we hope this one will be even better. There are pictures of the previous events on Facebook.

That all sounds great & I've already seen pics of the previous events, looks like a fun weekend.

Can't remember from the pics, but would it be a problem if some of my models were unpainted (are there normally any rules on that?)

Sounds like you get quite a bit for your £20-25.

Roughly how many people do you normally have playing? ...someone at Reapers may already have this sorted, but I wonder if it would be worth me writing to a few companies to see if they would sponsor the event with some wargaming goodies? (I'd do this nearer the time if you wanted me to)

There is normally some rule in-game to persuade people to have as much painted as possible. I think before all unpainted models had preferred enemy against them.

Last time I think there were 16 players although 20 was the target.

Thanks for the info, I love the previous rule about unpainted models being targets of prefered enemy, a fair penalty but doesnt exclude anyone from playing. I'm much more of a modeller than a painter which is why I asked, but I will definitely attempt to have a fully painted force for the game.

Sounds like a good number of people too - should be epic!

Another question - what are the general feelings on counts-as models? I have a highly converted army (http://gravengames.co.uk/tag/iron-guard/) including a few non GW kits, and plan to have a couple of complete scratchbuilds - as long as things are pretty obvious and not confusing - are counts as models ok?

Counts-as is fine.

We've had scratch-built Titans, alternative Stormravens and much more.

Anything goes as long as it's not too confusing.

all my guard flyers are airfix models, so far have lightning and a marauder bomber converted kinda getting there with a thunderbolt as well, then just have to make more of them and my plans for my rough rider company that's entirely made from bits boxes with not a single horse (unless you count the hobby horse) and may even fight in my defense line and quad gun, and Moobs you need to take your thunder fire cannon in this years list
40k: guard/marines/chaos/tau
Deadzone: enforcers and rebs
Fantasy: skaven
Dystopian wars: antartica
Malifaux: reserectionist
Dredball: terratons
Dust: SSU
